Bruno Aguiar is a lawyer with over 20 years of experience in tax law. His professional journey is closely tied to the history of the firm, as he began his career at RFAA as an intern. He has served as a secondee at large companies, which deepened his understanding of everyday business challenges, enabling him to provide even more precise advice to his clients. Bruno works in both tax litigation and tax consultancy, specializing in direct and indirect taxes, particularly in the banking, fintech, pharmaceutical, automotive, and technology industries.
He is a professor of Tax Planning at Sindusfarma and FIA-USP, and the author of several articles on tax law.
Bruno has extensive experience in designing strategic tax planning for companies. He has led significant lawsuits, including the suspension of the enforcement of the rate differential (Difal) owed in certain states due to the shipment of goods to individuals and legal entities that are not ICMS taxpayers. He also spearheaded key cases regarding the refund of ICMS-ST tax, a matter not yet regulated by law. His expertise in foreign trade is remarkable, with a strategic focus on the fiscal classification of goods and taxes related to imports.
As a tax expert, Bruno supported the pharmaceutical and R&D sectors in their discussions with the Brazilian government and Congress on the Constitutional Amendment and regulations concerning the Consumption Tax Reform.
